SARASOTA, FL - On Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe will hold auditions for its 2017-2018 season. Auditions will take place at the WBTT Binz Building (1012 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota), which is adjacent to its theater building.

Actors are asked to prepare two contrasting monologues, one comedic and one dramatic, of three minutes or less. Singers are asked to be ready with 16 bars of one song, up-tempo or ballad, and one monologue, comedic or dramatic, of three minutes or less. 

Young Artist Program shows take place at the WBTT theater, located at 1646 10th Way in Sarasota. Tickets are $25 general admission; VIP tickets, which include reserved preferred seating, are $100. Call the box office at (941) 366-1505 or purchase tickets online at westcoastblacktheatre.org

Callbacks will be the same day; performers auditioning for musicals are asked to bring extra attire that is comfortable for learning choreography. Singers should bring sheet music in the correct key, with the beginning and ending noted for the accompanist. All candidates must bring five copies of their professional headshot with resume either stapled together or printed two-sided; photocopies are acceptable.
