Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) is pleased to announce that the Best of Stevie Wonder will open the summer season on Wednesday, July 17^th and run for eleven performances through Sunday July 28^th. The show is an original musical revue, written and adapted by Nate Jacobs, WBTT's founding artistic director. The Best of Stevie Wonder will be presented at the WBTT theater, 1626 10^th Way in Sarasota. Show days and times are Tuesday-Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. The Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe is very pleased to announce that it has been invited to perform its original musical revue Soul Crooners at the 2013 National Black Theatre Festival (NBTF) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The biennial Festival will be held this summer from July 29^th -August 3^rd. Soul Crooners will be performed four times, twice on Friday, August 2^st and twice on Saturday, August 3^rd. This is the first time a WBTT production has been invited to perform, although Artistic Director Nate Jacobs has presented Aunt Rudele at the festival, to great acclaim.

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) is pleased to announce that Margie Nellum Lee has joined their Board of Trustees. Lee co-chairs the Troupe's Advisory Board, which she will continue to do, along with her new role as a Trustee.

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) will produce two musical revues this summer, one world premiere and one repeat of a previously sold-out run. Best of Stevie Wonder, a new musical revue adapted and written by Nate Jacobs, will run July 17th through July 28th. Sammy Tonight! with the multi-talented De'zhon Fields as Sammy Davis Jr., comes back August 21st through September 1st. Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) is pleased to announce the launch of its Young Artist Program, where Troupe members are able to showcase their talents with one-night, one-person shows at the WBTT Theater, 1646 10^th Way, in Sarasota. The first two scheduled are Alyssa White on Monday, April 29^th and Michael Mendez on Monday, May 13^th. Time for each is 8:00 pm and ticket price is $25. SPECIAL ONE-TIME ONLY PERFORMANCE COMMEMORATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe is pleased to announce a specially created performance of an original piece combining song, dance and drama that pays tribute to important people who contributed to black history in America. We Are Because They Were will be presented on Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 pm in the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe theater, 1646 10th Way, Sarasota, FL.
