Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) is pleased to announce that the Best of Stevie Wonder will open the summer season on Wednesday, July 17th and run for eleven performances through Sunday July 28th. The show is an original musical revue, written and adapted by Nate Jacobs, WBTT's founding artistic director. The Best of Stevie Wonder will be presented at the WBTT theater, 1626 10th Way in Sarasota. Show days and times are Tuesday-Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. The Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe is very pleased to announce that it has been invited to perform its original musical revue Soul Crooners at the 2013 National Black Theatre Festival (NBTF) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The biennial Festival will be held this summer from July 29th -August 3rd. Soul Crooners will be performed four times, twice on Friday, August 2st and twice on Saturday, August 3rd. This is the first time a WBTT production has been invited to perform, although Artistic Director Nate Jacobs has presented Aunt Rudele at the festival, to great acclaim.
